A Diploma Holder Mechanical Engineer is responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and machinery. The role involves supporting engineering and production activities, ensuring smooth plant operations, maintaining equipment efficiency, and complying with safety and quality standards.

1. Plant Operations and Maintenance

• Monitor the operation of machinery and mechanical systems.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and assist in troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure optimum performance and reliability of plant machinery.

2. Equipment Inspection

• Conduct routine inspections of mechanical equipment.
• Maintain maintenance records and equipment history.
• Report equipment abnormalities and recommend corrective actions.

3. Installation and Commissioning

• Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors during maintenance and project activities.
• Ensure proper alignment and functioning of mechanical systems.

4. Production Support

• Support production teams in achieving operational targets.
• Monitor machine performance and minimize downtime.
• Assist in process improvements and productivity enhancement initiatives.

5. Documentation

• Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and technical reports.
• Prepare daily and monthly maintenance reports.
• Record spare parts consumption and inventory requirements.
